Word of the Day

March 4, 2022

The assumption is the lowest form of human intelligence. We were not called to assume God will hear something we have not asked for.
We were called to ask God for the things we need in our daily lives. Luke 11:10 says, ‘For everyone one who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.’ Asking is believing that I need help. One may say, ‘I will never ask for help unless I think I can't do something myself.’ We were never to assume that we can do anything by ourselves. Seeking is admitting I don't have all I need. Sometimes we think that what we have is all we need. That very well might be right in the physical world, but it will never be true in the spiritual world.
You may have noticed that you will not find anything you are not looking for. When you're looking for something you have lost it or need it. God's Word says you must be looking for it to find it. In His Word, you will find the answers to questions about life, to the problems life can bring, happiness, love, the joy of life, and all in between. But God promises that those who ask, and seek, by the knocking will receive what they need. To think that my prayers are as ‘knocking on the heart of God’ is exciting to me. I know when someone knocks on the door of my home, I answer it to see who's there, what they need, and if I can help. They are always welcome into my home. I don't ignore the knocking and neither does God.
Our Heavenly Father knows how to give good things in life to those who are willing to receive by constantly knocking.
Luke 11:10-13
