Word of the Day

Hebrews 11:8 says, "by faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance."
When we read about this man named Abraham it's because of two words spoken in verse eight. It's not his name or even that he was called, or what he would receive. It's the words faith and obeyed. Not matter what, we would not be reading about this man if those two words were not the center of the subject. He believed and changed the course of human history. His belief changed the course of Christianity. He believed and changed the course of his life. What he believed was what he was told by God. He never questioned it, doubted it, or even sought council about it. He just believed.
So many today say I believe in God, what God said, or even if God is leading me to do this or that. Abraham believed God so much about the promise that God gave him that it caused him to do something radical in today's standard. It caused him to obey. He believed God would deliver him to this place, of which Abraham did not know where it was, or what direction to go, or even if it was as God said it would be. He believed in ignorance of faith. Which simply means, he trusted God to the point that he obeyed God. Until we get our faith to the point that we respond in ignorance of faith we will never receive what God has for us. Jesus said, 'unless you come as little children,' meaning in the simpleness of a child. Abraham was nothing special.
What made him great in the sight of God was those two words faith and obey. Faith placed in the soil of obedience is a seed that will produce a tree with roots of strong desires. Abraham had a strong desire to receive what God had promised. Many fail because of the lack of the roots of faith and obedience.
The desire to see what faith has believed, will always cause one to react in the ignorance of faith to obey and receive.
Ephesians 3:13-21
