This morning, as I was praying, I opened an old Bible that I have on my deck at the house. In the front are the blank pages that are in most Bibles. I found several things I had written over time, making the pages not blank any longer. They are full of notes, little sayings, and other things I wanted to remember over the years.
At the top of the first page is a date: The date is March the 8th, of 1998. I know that date means very little to you, but it means everything to me. That date, you will find, has been written in many of my Bibles. I mention it many times in my sermons. The Lord has to remind me of it in the days of my discouragements, which seem to be many here lately. I am reminded of it by friends and those who were there that day. Even the devil, himself, reminds me of that date from time to time. That date has carried me through many battles, disappointments, failures, and has rescued me from total defeat. It encouraged me, assured me, strengthened me, and even tempered me. It has been the molding factor and the holding factor for the last 23+ years. It was my starting line, but it will not be my finish line! It is written in my heart forever and evermore!
Not only is it written in the pages of my Bibles, but it is also written in a Book of Remembrance in Heaven. It's the date that I gave my heart and my sins to the Lord Jesus Christ. It is the date I found redemption and forgiveness. It was the day my life was changed forever and evermore. It was the day I was sealed by the Holy Spirit for a life of eternity. It was the day that the world stood still and came to its end in my life. It is the day that I became a new creation in Christ Jesus.
Do you have a day that the world came to the end in your life? If not, you can!
