Hebrews 9:15 says, ‘He is the mediator of the new covenant.’
So many times we misunderstand this statement. But it is the power of salvation for everyone who believes. We may think that Jesus is sitting at the right hand of God, telling Him what we need, or what we are asking for in our prayers, but that is not the understanding of the word ‘mediator.’ It means that Jesus, Himself, stands between you and me and the law of God. The law demands payment for sin and it must be satisfied and fulfilled. Christ stands between man and the law of God. What the law demanded, He became. He became death that we might become life. Jesus said in John 14:6, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life.’ Then He makes a pure and powerful proclamation: He says, ‘No one comes to the Father, except through me.’
Many have claimed to be God, and many have claimed to be Christ. There are over two thousand today that claim to be Jesus. But no one has or is proclaiming that they are the only pathway to the Father. Why? Because the only mediator between man and God already sits at the right hand of His Father. He is our covenant. He is the forgiveness of our sins. He is our promise of eternal life. He did not come to die, He came that we might have life and it more abundantly. Death could not hold Him, nor had anything to do with Him. Death is only a threat to man. When I accept the life of Christ, then and only then, can I also make the same proclamation. I overcome death and the grave.
Oh, grave where is your victory?
Do you know Him? If not call out to the only mediator that can assure you of eternal life.
Romans 10:9-10
