The in depth study of Revelation 1 –19 – 21 Wed.
Rev. 9 : 1 – 21
Study # 115
The Seven Trumpets
1. In chapter nine we see
a. The fifth trumpet sounded
b. Six trumpet sounded
c. With all the judgements that came along with those trumpets.
2. But Chapter nine also spoke of a great war.
Revelation 9:15-16 (NKJV)
15 - So the four angels, who had been prepared for the hour and day and month and year, were released to kill a third of mankind.
16 - Now the number of the army of the horsemen was two hundred million; I heard the number of them.
3. What about this war?
a. When will it be or has it already happen
b. Where will it be
c. Who is involved
4. To answers some of those questions we must take time to look at
Ezekiel 38 and Ezekiel 39.
5. Ezekiel 38 and 39 are a continued dispute among scholars even to this day.
a. Let’s look at Ezekiel 38 and 39 as we have the study of Revelation
1. Line upon line
2. Word upon word
3. Understanding upon understanding
6. Ezekiel thirty eight and thirty nine are known as prophecy.
a. Remember that prophecy
1.May or may not be understood at the time
2.May or may not be revealed at that time
3. But if it is true prophecy –
a. All prophecy is true if it’s true prophecy –
b. And will comes to pass at its proper time which makes it true prophecy.
7. We can rest assured that prophecy in the word of God is true prophecy.
a. Back again we might not
a. Understand it
b. It may not be revealed to us or even the one it’s been given to
c. But if it’s in the Bible it is true prophecy.
d. For example – The prophet Isaiah prophesied the birth of Jesus approx. 400 years before it happen
Isaiah 7:14 (NKJV)
14 Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.
e. We know that the angel of the Lord reminded Joseph of the Prophecy of Isaiah in Matthews 1: 19 - 25
Matthew 1:23-25 (NKJV)
23 "Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel," which is translated, "God with us." 24 Then Joseph, being aroused from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord commanded him and took to him his wife, 25 and did not know her till she had brought forth her firstborn Son. And he called His name JESUS.
f. We know that prophecy came true with the birth of the lord Jesus
Christ. Matt. 2 : 1
8. Those who study God word have tried to understand prophecy from the
beginning of time and have spent much time trying to explain prophecy.
a. When God told Noah to build and art and his family would be saved
from a great flood was a prophecy.
Gen. 6 : 8 - 22
b.We are not for sure how many exact years it took Noah to build the ark.
c. Many says it took approx. 120 years for that prophecy to come true
d. Studiers of God’s Word are still trying to put the pieces of the puzzle
together today.
