Word for the Day

James asks a question, and then answers his own question. James 4:14 For what is your life?  A dear friend of mine died last night. He was only 29 years old. As I sat on my porch alone and wept over the lost. I felt the Lord say something to my heart. This young man was a preacher of God’s word, he was on fire to serve God. He had started his own business and had so much potential and such a great future. As I reminded the Lord that we needed him here. The lord impressed upon my heart this verse. Later as I was trying to sleep I heard the lord say, he fulfilled his estimated time of arrival. We as children of God all have an estimated time of arrival to be in heaven. His was at 8:15 last night. James says our lives are no more than a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. It would appear James would be saying that there is no hope. But the depth of this verse is to remind us that we have time enough to know where we will be when our time of arrival comes. And it will come. As sad as it is to lose someone we so deeply love and care about. It is more important to know where our loved one will be. Opportunity is to be for now and not tomorrow. Be bold enough to ask and know. This young man was a soul winner for Christ Jesus, He was not afraid to ask the right questions, and even more courageous not to except the wrong answers. I miss and will miss Him for many many days to come. But I know that he arrived safely in the arms of his savior at 8:15 last night. The question to be ask today is do you know where you will be when your time of arrival comes. James 4:1-7
