Word for the Day

Dec. 2 - 1951 Yes that's my birthday, today I turned 70 years old. As I sit and reflect back over my life you might ask what would I have done differently. I think we all have those moments when we ask that question. I've heard many say I would not change a thing because It made me who I am today. Which Is true and very understandable. But the truth is we all have those things we would like to change. My list would read something like to this. I wish I would have not hurt as many people as I did. I would have liked to live a much more unselfish life. I would have liked to have been a better listener. I would like to have spoken less. I would have liked to loved people for whom they were more. I would have liked to have been a better role model. I would have liked not to live without some that I have lived without. I would like to have learned more. I would like to have been a better friend. And I must mention husband, father and grandfather, which all would have made me a much better person. And the list goes on. At the end of one’s life the person you are is all that's going to matter. And yes, those things we did are what made us who we are good, bad, are even indifferent. Paul said forgetting those things in the past, it’s not that we forget, it’s that we take the things we have learned by not forgetting what we would do differently and being those things today that matters. We cannot change any of our regrets, But we can change with Gods help.
Jeremiah 29:11-13
