Word for the Day

Good morning with a word for the day-
Genesis 6:9 says, "This is the genealogy of Noah, Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God."
I've read this before as I know you have. But it just jumped off the page this morning. I am sure I am like you and you like me, that I want to please God. I try to live my life the best that I can. I study to show myself approved, try my best to treat people right, and forgive those who have hurt me. But perfect I am not. I ask myself,  'what is perfect before the Lord?'
The first perfect, that I must have is my sins forgiven by faith in Christ.  Now that's a given, we all know that. But perfect, what does that look like? I think that it can be as  simple as setting one's heart toward God. Meaning this, to keep God in the fore thought of one's mind in every aspect of daily living. Jesus said, "seek ye first the kingdom of God" in Matthew 6:33.  Paul said 'think on these things,' and then gives us a list of novel thinking in Philippines 4:8. James 3:2 says, "If anyone does not stumble in words, he is a perfect man."
All of these say to live a perfect life before God by saying different things . To live a perfect life, is to live a life not trying to please God, but yet please God by trying to live a Godly life every day before God. God should never take a back seat in our lives. To be perfect is to seek after God in all things. To get it all right, no, I don't think so. But to put forth the effort to get it all right is the key I believe.
Perfectness is found in the daily life lived pleasing God with all that we know to do at that day and moment of time. Perfectness is found in a heart that looks to please God.
