Word for the Day

Good morning with a word for the day-
David was a man after God's own heart.
Why was this? It was because no matter where David was, no matter what was going on, no matter his troubles, his battles, his victories, or failures, he gave thanks and praise unto God. In Psalm 122 he says, “I was glad when they said to me, ‘Let us go into the house if the LORD.’” In Psalm 120 he says, “In my distress I cried to the LORD.” Psalm 131, “LORD, my heart is not haughty, Nor my eyes lofty.” And in Psalm 138 he says, “I will praise You with my whole heart; Before the gods I will sing praises to You. I will worship toward Your holy temple, And praise your name.” No matter the circumstances or the troubles he was facing, David's heart gave thanks and praise to God. He turned everything into praise and thanksgiving. He worshiped when he should have been crying and sought opportunity to give thanks to God for his love. He never gave place to despair. David knew that with God nothing was impossible and he could overcome anything. From a heart of full assurance and trust in God, he found praise.
The same heart of praise today will find the same God that David praised. For He is the same today as He was yesterday and will be tomorrow.
He is a God that is looking to be praised.
